Today Dad started his trip home, the two weeks he spent here went by so fast, but we made the most of it. Our trip to Port Campbell and the Otways (documented in photos on my foto blog) was fabulous, and we managed to do quite a lot around Melbourne too. Yesterday we even took a cruise on the Yarra, something that only tourists usually get to do. Found out lots of things that I didn't know about this part of the city, despite having lived here for 31 (!) years.
Now I'll have to start gearing myself up for the new academic year, but there are some good things to look forward to. Thanks to 4 weeks leave I am feeling rested and ready to go.
And at this time of year we can start thinking about THE sport, Aussie Rules Football. Enough of the dreary cricket, the golf and tennis. And soccer, don't make me laugh. They're now trying to change the name of the game from soccer to football, but in Victoria, there is really only one football code worth mentioning, and it is the sport that permeates the city, suburbs and country towns. Bring it on!
