Officially our autumn is one third gone, but the weather is still quite summery. On the weekend it was in the 30s, and today it's supposed to hit 27º. (Thanks to Kerri for the computer tip on creating the degree sign!) Our crepe myrtles have taken their time in reaching the end of their flowering - they've been going for more than 2 months! Now it's time for the hibiscus to show off its beautiful flowers.
Autumn also heralds the start of the footy season, and Val goes a bit feral. But more on that in another post.

Oh my, a double hibiscus. How lovely!! Beautiful picture and the colour...just wonderful! Two whole months of blooming time for the crepe myrtles...lucky you!
I think the temps might have reached 68ºF (20ºC) here today. Spring has sprung (to a degree..ha!).
I'll be interested to 'see' Val going feral about the footy. Hmmmmm.
Please can we see some photos of 'feral Val' in her Blues gear?
I guess you and Stuart will be celebrating or consoling as the occasion warrants throughout the season. Ho, hum ....lol
'Val goes a bit feral'?! I can hardly wait!!
My husband goes a bit feral, too. And if his team plays badly, Fatty's whole demeanour is affected for a day or two. Seriously.
So how die-hard a fan are you??!
Here's where I take living up north for granted. We have hibiscus blooming all year round :)
Hi Val
A beautiful hibiscus.
I lived for most of my childhood in Coffs Harbour where they were very popular.
Who are you tipping this year?
Best wishes
So pretty!
I hope all this rain doesn't drown mine!
oh what a lovely photo. Not a chance of growing those outdoors here in UK. But we have other advantages, like...errr...like......ummm...
Wow, I didn't even know we had a double hibiscus!
Love your new profile photo, Tanya. I should do a giraffe post one day.
And the much in demand "Val goes feral" will be posted soon, including a photo or two.
Jellyhead, I think I'm pretty feral, as I too can feel out of sorts for a day or two after a really bad loss at the footy. And given Carlton's season last year, that was quite often...So in answer to your question, Lindsay, I won't be tipping Carlton. My son once said that I turn into a different person at the footy. I definitely wouldn't be taken for the stereotypical librarian!
Oh God - we've had months of "... days until AFL starts" and NOW we have "... since AFL began."
WILL IT NEVER END??????
So, Alice, you WERE paying attention! I will remove the banner now. I'm typing this comment during half time at the Friday night game. Watched the game last night, and have Saturday, Sunday and Monday games to look forward to. Aaaah...
Beautiful, Val. I have in my garden a double hibiscus too.
ECSTATIC !!
