Aaargh!

When I switched to "layout" just now, rather than "template", things are not as I wish them to look AND I've lost my list of Blogs I Like to Read. Anybody have any ideas or advice, other than constructing the list manually??

OK, so I reinstated my list of blogs manually. I know there were probably better ways. You may write to me and tell me about them. Go ahead, make my day.

Lol Val, I think you had no choice but to put in your list manually. Feel better now? hehe I've switched to the New Blogger but I haven't used their "customize" option yet because I'm quite happy with the way my blog looks now! I had heard from others that when you do customize, you lose all your blog links and must reinstate them all manually....or, if you had saved a copy of your template, to just cut and paste them into your new template. My friend had to put them in manually. She thinks there is no other way.

I think you did what had to be done with the blogroll Val, and it's better than the old style of adding them to your template.
The method of adding labels sounds excellent, will certainly be trying that, thanks for passing it on.

Pea (and others), you do have access to your old template, including blogroll, by going to the template tab, then Edit HTML, and at the bottom of that page is a link to View Classic Template. There will be all the old familiar tags, including the blogroll (thank goodness!). I copied and pasted the blogroll into a Notepad file for future reference and then copied and pasted each one into a new page element, Link List, which I named Blogs I like to read. I copied the URL and the title of the blog and pasted the whole thing into the URL slot, then control Xed the title bit and pasted that into its proper slot below. You will have to remove a couple of characters (>") too, but after a while it became automatic. Now that I've TOTALLY bamboozled you...

Looks like it's all sorting itself out. I'm having a slightly malicious giggle - looks like I got away from Blogger just in time....? Hope the dramas ease up from now on.

Looks like all is going well with the new Blogger for you now. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but is quite user friendly once you figure it out.
Good luck.
Take care, Meow

I guess I was lucky Val, I didn't lose my blog link list, just those two things I mentioned earlier. I'm glad you seem to have sorted things out now. I must add a title to my link list someday when I'm playing....it's a good idea.
Happy Valentine's Day!

I did like Pea, I had saved a copy of my template and model, to just cut and paste them into my new template. I think this is the only way to do this.

About labels, when I click on one of them, my blog don't show up the words: "Showing posts with label labels. Show all posts", as your blog did. Do you know why? Do you have some tips?

Me again, Val. My Labels don't show up like yours, on left!
Oh! My! (Lol) May you help me to do this? Thank you!!!

*sitting back listening and gleaning advice* Also printing out the advice and filing away till I am brave enough to "customise". slowly. slowly...

Sonia,I had not seen that message before ("Showing posts with label labels. Show all posts")! I'm sure it's new. I have just checked some other blogs with labels, and they show this message too. Maybe there's some waiting time before this message appears??

As for them showing up on your blog (they'll be on the right side on your blog, as that's determined by the template you use), did you follow this instruction?:
To get the categories to show on your blog, you need to go into your layout and add a page element. Click where it says "add labels to blog".
