A Bloggy Tour of Homes

Welcome! This front courtyard is part of the Japanese garden look we are trying to achieve. There's a rumpus (hubby's workshop and sons' gym to the left of the front door. Behind the bamboo blinds is the kitchen, and to the right, out of view, are our two studies, and one son's bedroom.

My blogspace. Well, not much to say about that. But I'd love to replace my workstation which I bought along with my first computer in about 1990. In those days I didn't use the mouse much, and now it's apparent that I don't have enough mouse-moving room.

Dining room, living room on other side of bamboo screen, STILL decorated with Christmas things, yes, in July.

Kitchen, with waiting dirty dishes edited out to left of screen. Two lazy susans in the bottom corners, glad the kitchen design man convinced us to have two rather than one. So easy to get at stuff.

Walk in pantry, taken from the doorway. It extends to the left and right, with shelves on two walls perpendicular to the one you see. Top shelf full of Gourmet magazines. I love my pantry!

Yours was the very 1st home I've toured.
Your pantry is great! Thanks for inviting us! Now that I know blogger is working, maybe I'll try to get my post done!

Love it. I love your entrance - I'm a sucker for an interesting front door. And I've seen some of the other stuff before (glad to see you've still got those decorations there). I finally got mine up (blogger was not nice about it, though).

This is so much fun, being able to "walk" through the other's homes:-) You have a lovely home and seeing the Christmas decorations made me smile because I'm a Christmas fanatic and I'd decorate all year round if I could! hehe

Hello Val ~~ Thanks for sharing your home with us. Like everyone else, I love
the pantry. It is wonderful and so tidy.
I reall envy you that. What did you think of the bid draw. So close !!
Maybe we can beat Freo this week. Their
coach Chris Connolly used to live next door to us in Nathalia. He started school with my 2 girls taking him. BUT
we still wanna win. Cheers, Merle.

Hehehe, had a chuckle at the Christmas decorations. I forgot all about this tour....I was going to participate. I am becoming pretty scatter brained lately (yes, more than usual..eeek).
Anyway thanks for the tour of your lovely home Val...loved the entrance and pantry too :)

p.s. Your variation to the tea cake sounds good...I will definitely be using the icing sugar...the other sugar was too crunchy. How clever.

I love your pantry too. What I wouldn't give for storage space like that. And your hardwood floors are gorgeous. Too funny, the Christmas stuff still out and about. Thanks for the peek.

Regarding the computer in the closet...

Yeah computers DO get hot, so we just leave the door open unless we have company, then we turn off the computer and shut the door.

I see the pantry is a big hit with your visitors today. I, too, have a pantry. When we built our home I opted for less cabinets and larger pantry. No surprising, it is full!! Thanks for sharing your home.

I love your kitchen and your pantry is divine! I really like the cooktop. I would love to have my old kitchen with the wall oven and cooktop back instead of the whole "stove" set up. Thanks so much for sharing your home :)

wow - well done Val... I love your bamboo screen, I don't think I've ever been in a house that uses a bamboo screen that I didn't feel peace and love - I guess that might be more of the japanese influence?

Thanks for sharing! I lived in Melbourne as a child...Strathmore, is that near you? It was so fun to see a house from so far away and realize that no matter where we are, we are all so similar!

What wonderful list of endless comments, and great tour of your home. I was thinking about a post on Mud brick homes in Eltham? Any in your area?

Oh, I might kill for that kind of room in a pantry. Well not really, but it really would help to be able to see everything when I'm looking to cook.

I'm a Bon Appetit girl my self, but I get the saving of magazines.

Thanks for sharing!

Your home is lovely Val. I especially love the entrance with those white stones and huge rocks. I hope the MWC didn't have to lift those :) Kidding of course. Did you have to hire someone with a big bucket loader to move those? Nice neat kitchen....so clean and white!
