Hedgely Dene Gardens revisited

Today was just too beautiful to stay indoors, even though it was a rare opportunity to have the house to myself. I was going to visit a garden in the Dandenongs which has beautiful specimen trees, but the cost of petrol made me think twice about driving all the way up there on my own. I decided to go back to the much closer Hedgely Dene Gardens to see how autumn (on the left) was changing them from when I saw them in summer (on the right).

A nice quiet spot

Looks like a lovely spot to visit! Just how high is petrol? It's over $3.00 per gallon here which is really silly since the major refineries are within two miles of us!

Petrol or gas varies daily here from $2.59 per gallon to $2.99....this is for regular.

Val...Your pictures are beautiful and I'm sure the colors will become more striking as the days go by. Your nice quiet spot picture, would make a beautiful desktop picture.

Sue and AiP - Petrol here is about $1.35 per litre ($5.40 per gallon) depending where you live. That's approx. US$4.70 per gallon.

Lovely cool gardens, Val. It's good to have an 'escape' close by and to be able to observe it in all seasons. Hope you didn't mind me butting in with the petrol price?

Hey, Alice, thanks for going to the trouble of converting the prices - saves me the work! Actually, that $1.35 was yesterday's price, and guess what, I am almost out of petrol and this morning it's supposed to have gone to $1.45

AIP, what a great idea about using that as a desktop photo! I stoppped there for a while and read. It was so warm in the sun that I needed to find some dappled shade.

Looks really pretty there Val. You found a lovely spot to sit and read.
I know we complain about our gas prices, but we really have it OK compared to most places. I heard today that it's $12 per gal in France! Now that's high!!

I think we can take a positive out of these prices if it does make us stop and think: do I need to take the car, do I need to go that far?

Val - I have often used photos of my garden or other places as wallpaper on the computer. Right now I have one of Kerri's daffodil shots on there (she knows about it).

Val- What a lovely garden. I really must go see some gardens in Tas.
